Frayne, our hero, is kind of an asshole, though. And yes, in case you were wondering, she really is wearing that sheer see-through tablecloth that she's shown in on the cover. She meets our knightly hero in one of those naked bath meet-cutes that always seems to happen in books like these (which is when they bang). Even though she's human, she speaks the old tongue of the elves because they took her in after two of them witnessed her mother's murder at the hands of Mysterious Dark Knights. Which is a good thing, because every male in this book with a working peen, regardless of species, age, or creed, wants to bang her. She sleeps with the hero before page fifty, and never allows herself to be shamed for it. The heroine Anduan/Aurora is unapologetic about her sexuality. In fact, in many ways, it reads as being very similar to other fantasy novels coming out today, such as those by Jennifer Armentrout or Sarah J. It was published in 1985, but there's literally nothing in it that would keep it from being published today. In many ways, ENCHANTED PARADISE is surprisingly progressive. But that's the only thing they have in common. Like STORMFIRE, it's also got a cover by Pino Daeni. (Don't judge me.) Today, I'm going to be talking about another hard-to-find gem from the bodice-ripper world. Because I laughed to myself and said CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Be careful what you wish for, gentle readers. People wanted to read more bodice-rippers vicariously- through me! HAHA. It will take a common enemy and a little trust to awaken them both to a love that can change their lives forever. Not too long ago, I wrote a review of Christine Monson's STORMFIRE, and I received really positive feedback. Even as he lays sweet seductive siege to her body, he tries to shield his soul. Even as he wages war for her heart, he dares not yield his own. In the fiery Melisande he will find his heaven and hell.

Lord of the Wolves, a legendary warrior whose greatest challenge will come with the woman he is destined to wed.

HE IS THE MIGHTY VIKING CONQUEROR THEY CALLED. But the proud beauty who fears no man suddenly fears herself-and the passionate embrace of the husband who vows never to let her go. Now MacAuliffe has returned to claim his wife, a ravishing woman determined to fight for her freedom at all costs. But it was Conar MacAuliffe, a young warrior who rode into battle to defend her people, who made Melisande his bride-and then disappeared for years. With her extraordinary violet eyes, ebony hair, and ivory skin, the French countess Melisande was a prize for any man.
